# VerticalLine

```ts
import { VerticalLine } from "@pibbl/core";
```

`VerticalLine` uses [`VerticalLineProps`](/reference/types/elements-components/#verticallineprops) and [`VerticalLineStyle`](/reference/types/styles/#verticallinestyle). It rejects
children and supplies an allocation-aware default endpoint. Stroke targeting
honors `lineInteractionWidth`; use a declared box when percentage geometry
needs a finite basis.

```tsx
<VerticalLine
  style={{ x: 52, y1: 12, y2: 152, stroke: "#334155", strokeWidth: 2 }}
/>
```

## API details from source

<span id="api-VerticalLine"></span>

Describes a vertical-line primitive for JSX or createElement authoring.

```ts
VerticalLine: PibblPrimitiveComponent<VerticalLineProps, PrimitiveInput<VerticalLineProps, VerticalLineStyle>>
```

Related API: [VerticalLine](/reference/components/vertical-line/), [PibblPrimitiveComponent](/reference/types/elements-components/#pibblprimitivecomponent), [VerticalLineProps](/reference/types/elements-components/#verticallineprops), [PrimitiveInput](/reference/types/styles/#primitiveinput), [VerticalLineStyle](/reference/types/styles/#verticallinestyle).

### Parameters

- **`props`** — Authored component inputs, supplied through JSX or createElement. See the linked
props and style types.

### Throws

When called directly; Pibbl mounts this component through JSX or createElement.

## Complete minimal example

Compile this TSX module with `jsx: "react-jsx"` and `jsxImportSource: "@pibbl/core"`, then load it from a browser entry point after the document body exists. It creates and mounts one canvas; dispose the controller before removing or replacing that canvas. The interactive study linked below adds controls beyond this minimal use case.

[Download source](/minimal/vertical-line.tsx)

```tsx
/** @jsxImportSource @pibbl/core */
import { pibbl, VerticalLine } from '@pibbl/core';
const canvas = document.createElement('canvas');
canvas.width = 320;
canvas.height = 240;
document.body.append(canvas);
const controller = pibbl(canvas, (
<VerticalLine
  style={{ x: 52, y1: 12, y2: 152, stroke: "#334155", strokeWidth: 2 }}
/>
));
window.addEventListener('pagehide', () => controller.dispose(), { once: true });
```
